Three-year partnership with Plan3 will strengthen SAS's ability to support passengers when unexpected disruption occurs.
REYKJAVÍK, Iceland and STOCKHOLM , Oct. 9, 2026 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) has entered into a three-year partnership with Plan3, the passenger disruption management technology company, as the airline continues to invest in the systems and capabilities that support its passengers when travel does not go to plan.

Airline operations are facing an increasingly complex disruption landscape. Severe weather, geopolitical instability, industrial action and pressure across the wider aviation ecosystem can rapidly affect flights and leave large numbers of passengers requiring support.
For airlines, the challenge is no longer simply responding to disruption when it happens, but building the operational resilience to respond quickly and consistently at scale.
For SAS, the partnership represents a further investment in that preparedness.
With an 80-year history connecting Scandinavia with the world, SAS has built its reputation as a full-service carrier around operational excellence and passenger care. The introduction of Plan3 will give SAS additional capability to manage passenger recovery during disruption, helping its teams coordinate support at scale with greater visibility and control when operations come under pressure.
Lars Johansson, Vice President OCC & Punctuality at SAS, said:
"Disruption is an unavoidable part of operating an airline, but how we prepare for it and how we support our passengers when it happens is something we can control."
"At SAS, caring for our passengers has always been fundamental to who we are. As the operating environment becomes increasingly complex, we need to continue investing in the tools and processes that allow our teams to respond quickly and consistently. Our partnership with Plan3 strengthens that capability and helps us continue delivering the level of care our passengers expect from SAS."
Simon Dempsey, Chief Commercial Officer at AviLabs (creators of Plan3), said:
"What stands out about SAS is that they are approaching disruption proactively. The pressures facing airline operations have changed significantly in recent years, and airlines increasingly recognise that passenger recovery needs the same investment and modernisation as other critical parts of the operation."
"SAS has a long-standing reputation for taking care of its passengers. This partnership is about giving its operational teams another tool to protect that experience when circumstances are at their most difficult."
Plan3 brings passenger recovery processes into a single platform, enabling airlines to manage disruption at scale and deliver appropriate solutions to affected passengers. Its technology is designed to work alongside existing airline systems, allowing carriers to introduce new recovery capabilities without replacing their core infrastructure.
Sveinn Akerlie, Founder and CEO of AviLabs (creators of Plan3), added:
"The airlines thinking furthest ahead about disruption are not trying to predict the next storm, strike or geopolitical event. They are building the capability to respond well whatever happens."
"SAS has spent 80 years connecting Scandinavia with the world and has built an extraordinary legacy of passenger care along the way. We are incredibly proud that Plan3 will now become part of how SAS protects that experience when journeys are disrupted."
The partnership adds SAS to Plan3's growing network of airline partners across Europe, North America, Asia-Pacific and Latin America.
