What a bedroom costs to own against to rent
A queen bed costs about ₹18,000 new and a two-door wardrobe ₹15,000 or more, before the mattress. On Rentomojo, a queen bed, mattress, two-door wardrobe and bedside table rent for about ₹1,250 a month, or about ₹15,000 across a year. Cumulative rent on the four-piece bedroom passes the ₹33,000 cost of the bed and wardrobe alone in month 27. A rented bedroom is sleep and storage paid for by the month, with assembly, dismantling and moving handled by the rental company.

A bedroom on rent is the most-used room in the flat priced at about ₹1,250 a month, with the heaviest pieces assembled, maintained and moved by Rentomojo. For Delhi tenants on 11-month agreements, students and working professionals, that removes the two costs of an owned bed and wardrobe: carrying them to the next flat and selling them at the end.
