SAN DIEGO, Sept. 10, 2026 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The National Association for Veteran and First Responder Wellness (NAVFRW) today announced its 2026 San Diego Wellness Summit, a free, one-day national convening for those dedicated to the well-being of veterans, first responders, and their families. The summit will take place September 17, 2026, at Liberty Station in San Diego, with Kaiser Permanente serving as title sponsor.
"Veterans and first responders carry the weight of service in ways that too often go unseen, their wellness impacts all of us. We want to send a clear message to those who serve - your community supports you" Aimee Johnson, LCSW, Co-Founder and Board Secretary of NAVFRW
The summit will bring together healthcare leaders, public safety agencies, government officials, and community organizations for a day of cross-sector education, applied innovation, and practical collaboration focused on suicide prevention, trauma-informed care, and the systems that support the wellness of those who serve. Organizers expect 250 to 300 attendees.
The San Diego gathering builds on NAVFRW's inaugural summit, held June 3, 2025, in Arlington, Virginia, in partnership with the Arlington County Police Department. That event drew 179 leaders from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, the Department of Homeland Security, local and State agencies and healthcare organizations for a day centered on suicide prevention, resilience and cross-agency partnership.

We want to send a clear message to those who serve - your community supports you" said Aimee Johnson, LCSW, Co-Founder and Board Secretary of NAVFRW. This summit exists to amplify the support first responders; Veterans and their families & supporters have."
