Michelle's Vintage Jewelry Gives More Than a Century of Sparkle a Fresh Online Home

PR Newswire

From estate-sale treasures to reimagined vintage pieces, the redesigned online store brings jewelry with a past to shoppers today

BLOOMINGTON, Minn., Oct. 14, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- The jewelry has history. The website has a fresh look. Michelle's Vintage Jewelry has unveiled a redesigned online store with faster loading times and improved mobile responsiveness, making it easier to browse jewelry and accessories spanning more than a century.

The collection includes antique and vintage fine and costume jewelry from the 1800s through the 1990s. Visitors can discover Art Deco and Victorian Revival styles, classic brooches, distinctive bridal accessories and pieces by designers including Miriam Haskell, Trifari and Weiss.

For Michelle, the business began with the pleasure of finding something unexpected. A physical therapist, she started selling antiques and collectibles in the late 1990s, hunting through auctions, private sales and estate sales. Her early finds included curios, furniture and an eclectic mix of collectibles, which she sold on eBay and through a local shop.

But she kept returning to the jewelry cases.

The patina, reflections and sparkle of older pieces caught her attention. Unusual discoveries sent her to the library's reference section, where she read everything she could find about older jewelry. That curiosity eventually became Michelle's Vintage Jewelry, whose first website launched in late 2001.

Today, preparing a piece for sale involves much more than finding it and posting a price. Michelle researches the jewelry and its historical period, gently cleans it, tests gemstones or metals, and photographs it using several lighting setups and different display stands. Items arrive carefully packed in presentation boxes, with orders often shipping the same day.

That attention has attracted collectors, wedding parties and theatrical productions. The business has also supplied the costume department of a major film released in 2012 and has been featured in books including Kate Harrison's "The Green Bride Guide: How to Create an Earth-Friendly Wedding on Any Budget."

The connection to history is personal, too. Michelle presented "Let Me Call You Sweetheart" for the Minnesota Historical Society, exploring World War II jewelry collectibles and sharing pieces her grandfather made for her grandmother. A Navy serviceman aboard one of the ships during the attack on Pearl Harbor, he fashioned bracelets from his ship's flatware while serving at sea.

Her next chapter gives overlooked pieces another chance to be worn. Through the store's Upcycled Collection, Michelle uses a studio welder to transform beautiful but broken vintage jewelry accumulated over the years. Each reimagined piece preserves something of its past while giving it a new life.

The same impulse carries into her mosaic work. An office chandelier combines vintage faux pearls, Murano teardrops and 1940s china. A wall hanging incorporating vintage jewelry and broken china is also underway, with plans to share it on social media.

For shoppers, the redesigned site offers a fresh way to explore that mix of history, craftsmanship and discovery, whether they are choosing wedding accessories, adding a vintage touch to their personal style or simply following the sparkle.

The invitation remains simple: "Come visit, have fun and sparkle!"
