Federal Lawsuit Filed by Former Forvis Mazars Managing Director Alleges Systemic Gender Bias and Retaliation by Senior Leadership at Global Accounting Giant
NEW YORK, Oct. 16, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Corinna Creedon, an award-winning executive who led Forvis Mazars LLP's National Nonprofit Advisory Services practice, filed a federal lawsuit on October 15 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York alleging sexual harassment, gender discrimination, and retaliation. The suit, filed by Kalmanson Cohen PLLC, alleges that Forvis Mazars LLP, one of the largest accounting and advisory firms in the world, failed to protect Ms. Creedon from repeated harassment by a colleague and then retaliated against her for reporting it.
Ms. Creedon, one of Forvis Mazars's most successful executives at the time, said the Company's gender-based double standards created an environment where women who spoke up about sexual harassment or gender bias faced retaliation rather than protection. According to the lawsuit, after more than a year of raising concerns of harassment that were tacitly endorsed, Ms. Creedon's persistence finally forced Forvis to investigate, but at a cost. The Company ultimately concluded that her male subordinate's conduct was unacceptable and terminated him — only to fire Creedon simultaneously, in a "blatant act of retaliation." The lawsuit alleges that Ms. Creedon was made to work for months without a signed contract and urged on several occasions to take a smaller bonus than she earned— treatment that, according to the filling, her male counterparts never faced.
"This is a textbook case of retaliation," said Randi Cohen, an attorney for Ms. Creedon. "Corinna was a top performer, a respected leader, and a role model for women across the Company. She was punished for doing what the law and Company policy required her to do."
The Legal Claims
The lawsuit alleges sexual harassment, gender discrimination, and retaliation under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, along with violations of the New York State and City Human Rights Laws, and the New York Whistleblower Protection Act. Ms. Creedon is also seeking a declaratory judgment voiding restrictive non-compete clauses that have prevented her from working in her field since her termination.
The case, Creedon v. Forvis Mazars LLP, Ryan Reiff, Mike Wolfe, and Troy Gilstorf, was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
