Sandra Shaw Dawood, Ph D. earned her MS degree in Marriage, Family, and Child Counselling from Loma Linda University in Loma Linda, California. Her PH.D. degree in Clinical Psychology was attained at the United States International University in San Diego, California.
During the process of working on her dissertation, pertaining to symbolic functioning, Sandra was introduced to James Paget Henry, M.D., PH.D. He was her mentor for a brief time. He read her dissertation and expressed to her the significance of symbolism in an individual's relationship with God. One of Dr. Henry's books is “Instinct, Archetypes, and Symbols: An Approach to the Physiology of Religious Experience” (published in 1992).
