A sweeping new entry into Christian speculative literature, “So Shall It Forever Be: The Making of Satan” by Chris Pagano presents a striking reinterpretation of one of theology's most debated subjects. This first installment in The Eternal Destiny trilogy will grace the center stage of Inks and Bindings' spotlighted shelves at the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books 2026.
Amidst the majestic backdrop of the heavens, the tale unfolds in a moment of anticipation and unity among its citizens. Lucifer, widely regarded as the most glorious being in all of creation aside from God, is expected to be anointed as chief over all. Yet, as God begins to speak, the course of destiny shifts dramatically, unraveling expectations and igniting a conflict that would echo throughout eternity. Pagano reconstructs this pivotal moment with rich narration and theological curiosity, presenting a layered vision of allegiance, defiance, and divine authority.
Through a creative and reflective lens, Pagano examines timeless questions that have shaped spiritual discourse for generations. The book delves into the origins of Satan, the nature of free will, and the persistent tension between good and evil in human life. It also considers whether God remains actively involved in the world today, encouraging readers to reflect on their own beliefs and spiritual journeys. By intertwining imaginative storytelling with scriptural inspiration, the narrative urges readers to revisit biblical texts and uncover deeper meanings within them.
Beyond its plot, the book serves as a contemplative guide for readers seeking peace and understanding amid life's moral complexities. It highlights the enduring relevance of faith and the importance of cultivating a meaningful relationship with God in the face of internal and external struggles.
Chris Pagano writes with a wealth of life experience. Born in 1963 as the seventh of eight children in a large Catholic family, he pursued a Master's degree in education from Regent University and spent 25 years as a public-school teacher. Alongside his professional career, Pagano has engaged in property investment and house flipping. He continues to be involved in his church community at Relevant Worship Center in St. Clairsville, Ohio, where he resides with his wife and their three children.
